This influential webinar series hosted by CBMM, the world's leading supplier of niobium and niobium technology, brought together an international line-up of speakers from industry and academia, with a welcome address by 2019 Nobel Prize winner John B. Goodenough.
Check out below some of the most interesting content presented during the three-day event.

Webinar 2: High Energy Cobalt Free Battery Technologies

The second part of this webinar series introduced highly innovative technologies being developed to reduce and eliminate the use of cobalt.
Chaired by Professor Roberto Torresi from the University of São Paulo.

High Energy Cobalt-Free Disordered Rocksalt Lithium-Ion Cathodes

Professor Raphaële Clément, Materials Department, University of California, Santa Barbara

Disordered rocksalt lithium transition metal oxides have recently emerged as high energy density cobalt-free cathodes for rechargeable batteries. In this presentation, I will discuss how cation disorder and short-range order impact lithium conduction and redox properties in these compounds. I will also provide a brief overview of compositional requirements for high performance, as well as common degradation processes.
