Grain refinement of Al-Si alloys by Nb-B inoculation

The annual award brings together technical experts from around the world and the winning paper is selected by a panel of international experts. This Charles Hatchett Award 2016 winners video introduces the research on the grain refinement of Al-Si Alloys by Nb-B inoculation, including concept development and its effect on binary alloys and subsequent application in commercial Aluminum alloys.

New ferritic stainless steel for service temperatures up to 1050 ◦C utilizing intermetallic phase transformation
