Modelling of softening in niobium-HSLA steels during hot rolling

International Symposium on Niobium Microalloyed Sheet Steel for Automotive Application

Niobium HSLA steels are more difficult to hot roll with consistent mechanical properties than plain carbon steels. In this paper the causes of this different behavior are explained and illustrated with a recently developed physical model. Advantages, restrictions, applications and future developments of this model are discussed. (AU)
